Well...
Pondering disk encryption.. on laptop.. but still unsure whether to do LUKS or zfs one, Soo, might poke VM and see how all that works there.
Annnddd, re-encoding everything to AV1/AVIF, because why not :3nya
What about you o3o

not doing anything too silly sadly, but doing a lot of vkd3d ($dayjob) and openrc work, and just did a update to the defer gcc patch
plus jumping between vulkan vtuber software, wayland compositor, and the gamepad->keyboard mapper so i can finally use my steam deck without ssh*
* for now i kinda paused on the whole making a game console-ish launcher, because i feel like just using rofi with a mapper is simpler and more flexible
might revisit it later though, once my compositor is usable and wp-gamepad is a thing

i'd recommend luks because it's file system agnostic, and more well supported/tested. for filesystem things i usually avoid less tested features

I installed upgrades that were sitting on a shelf for the past 3 months (gpu and psu).
the silly is I thought I bricked the computer but it turns out the psu knows what brand of cable you use and doesnt like if you don't use cables that match its brand

does "replacing the power supply because it died" count as a silly thing? certainly felt like a silly waste of 2 days

i made a very silly git repository viewer cgi script in posix sh, it's still full of todos but it was mostly just a poc, i don't feel like going any further with it, esp since there's already cgit which is miles better
now im making an http server through ucspi. pretty much all http servers ive looked at don't fit what i want, what i want is basically a bunch of very small handler programs which do each basic things like rewriting, rerouting (aka just spawning a new process and sending request to that), cgi, static file serve, etc, and each one is small.
apache is a behemoth, nginx isn't much better, lighttpd is also too big, and even tipidee has everything in place
i don't care about efficiency of performance, it's not going to serve any large amount of requests, and even if it does, then i'll switch to something more monolithic

not technical but installing pacman on a random different distro feels so silly to me
