i'm not a fan of just banning minors, it's kinda sad to push them out even though most of the content is not really adult content
so i'm in favor of the nsfw board, and best-effort moderation of sfw boards

From a registrar POV, it's just adhering to the cynical big company TOS thing of you can talk about almost anything and picture nsfw means nipple/genitals.
Speaking for myself only there but I don't see myself posting a lot of porn images, I have a myriad places to do that and if it's just sharing random pics on a whim, I'd do it on fedi or tumblr. And it's precisely because I think the adult talk might be more relaxed and spontaneous that I'd rather not have to shove it to the side.
The presence of minors is also not just a nsfw thing, you got the general maturity and vibes. If that sounds mean, I hung out in internet adult spaces as a kid too. Wasnt a bad experience, especially since I properly kept my mouth shut about my age and general identity but I know the lack of maturity did affect the vibes.

tbh the vibe thing doesn't have to be limited to minors, there are a bunch of adults I can think of that would also absolutely ruin the vibe
imo that case is more of a general "just don't be an asshole/annoying" rule rather than a full minor ban

would be nice if nsfw stuff could be spoilered somehow. Otherwise cxxvii doesn't mind. It does however side with rose that a minors free place would be more comfy.

... we might engage in a full blown discussion about what qualifies as "NSFW" as that seems to require at least two conditions:
1. watch content at your workplace with allegedly an office computer or device
2. watch content that your co-workers or bosses might object as too lewd, inappropriate, sexually explicit or such
the social norms for the latter vary across cultures a lot to say the least and are usually highly contaminated with bias, social and personal bigotry plus depend a lot on your private rules to boot.
How to find a usable compromise?
Just state that Twinkedln must not be watched during work?

I don't think "NSFW" should be taken literally as in "not safe for work". There are a lot of SFW things that bosses probably wouldn't like to see their employees distract themselves with during work. And sex workers exist.
I think in our context a much more useful definition for NSFW is if you'd want a minor to see it. That's the reason we're having this discussion in the first place. Obviously there still are some semantics that are worth debating, such as if we're dealing with text nsfw or images.

I've installed this extension:
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... er_bbcode/
this allows us to use content warnings similar to fedi using the spoiler tag (use title="..." to specify the warning).
test message
to be clear, this isn't a decision on this general issue yet.
still, content warnings are probably very useful for adults too, because not every adult necessarily wants to see content of sexual or gorey nature. if people are on board with this we could add a rule about putting content warnings on sensitive content (what exactly is sensitive content has still has to be defined tho).

...no problem, I used that extension myself on my phpBB but when we are a bit gay here the term "twinkedin.gay" would likely repel or even attract people, especially minors to explore this here. Maybe just for the purpose of complaining about the lack of age verification or the content itself. We know those people from experience, don't we?
However, a bit of hidden content doesn't hurt. We should admit that people who are easily offended are likely the type who are already offended and take an aggressive stance on any nudity and especially on "gay". Or am I mistaken?
