plus jumping between vulkan vtuber software, wayland compositor, and the gamepad->keyboard mapper so i can finally use my steam deck without ssh*

of course, but projects like glibc not doing proper QA at times and doing random ABI changes that break everything can't really be excused with "its just hobbyists" imo


glibc tries a lot to not break abi at least, they're the major user of versioned symbols, keeping old implementation around ...

i'm not a fan of just banning minors, it's kinda sad to push them out even though most of the content is not really adult content

so i'm in favor of the nsfw board, and best-effort moderation of sfw boards

Honestly yeah gentoo is probably my favourite distro in terms of versioning

Though I dont really see enterprise users using gentoo or alpine on their servers , in my opinion fedora would probably be the best and sanest choice there


fwiw blender studio's workstations and servers all run gentoo ...

i'd help, specially around openrc and getting init working properly

i like how gentoo does it, stable and "testing" channels, where stable lags behind testing by ~1mo, with exceptions for things like a new version that triggers news bugs

alpine with edge and $version is also okay because $version doesn't lag behind too much
